How it works:

Humectants draw in moisture to hydrate your skin and alleviate dryness while beneficial oils lock moisture in to reduce the appearance of dry skin and blemishes.

How to use it:

This formulation can be used on your face and body and is for all skin types. Just smooth over clean, dry skin for the best results.

Impressive

The Extra Moisture Lotion does exactly what it says on the bottle and does it well! My skin feels smooth and hydrated all day, not at all greasy or oily. This is a must-have in my daily routine now!

Glossary of Ingredients and Benefits

Aloe leaf:

A natural humectant rich in vitamins A, C, E and B12. Aloe gel (from the plant) has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce pain and speeds up the healing process. Aloe supports the skin’s ability to produce collagen. Aloe contains 98% water which helps hydrate your skin and has a soothing effect when applied to irritated or itchy skin. Aloe also helps to keep your skin more flexible and supple.

Arrowroot powder:

A naturally absorbent vegetable root flour. Arrowroot powder effectively absorbs both water and oil.

Avocado Oil:

Avocado oil is high in fatty acids, beta carotene, protein, lecithin, and vitamins A, D, and E.  Avocado oil is known for its ability to increase collagen production and can speed the healing of wounds. Clinical studies support the use of avocado oil in the treatment of psoriasis and eczema.

 

Beeswax:

A natural humectant that hydrates, conditions, and calms irritated skin. Beeswax possesses anti-inflammatory properties that encourage the healing of wounds.

Castor Oil:

Castor oil is the only natural source of ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid known to soften your skin and stimulates collagen production.

Cocoa Butter:

Cocoa Butter is an occlusive that is high in palmitic, stearic, and oleic fatty acids. Cocoa butter creates a moisture barrier to protect your skin from external stressors while deeply moisturizing your skin. Cocoa butter has a high antioxidant composition that protects your skin against free radicals that cause sun damage. Cocoa butter has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce skin inflammation and damage. The polyphenols found in cocoa butter promote skin elasticity and improve the skin appearance of scars.

Coconut Oil:

A natural cleanser and deodorizer. Coconut oil is a natural source of lauric acid which has antibacterial properties.

Colloidal Oat:

Colloidal oat or colloidal oatmeal is a humectant that binds to your skin providing a protective barrier that allows the skin to rehydrate. Colloidal oat is an anti-inflammatory that alleviates itching skin. Colloidal oat helps to balance the natural pH levels in dry skin. Colloidal oat is a known treatment for symptoms of eczema, dry skin, contact dermatitis, insect bites, and poison ivy.

Honeysuckle Blend extract:

A water-soluble flower extract that is known for its natural preservative properties. Used as a natural preservative.

Jojoba Oil:

A natural humectant that attracts water to the skin. Jojoba oil helps to regulate sebum production in your skin. Because they are similar your skin perceives jojoba oil as naturally produced sebum and produces less oil to keep the skin moisturized.

Kaolin Clay/Rose Kaolin Clay:

Kaolin clay is thought to be the mildest of the clays commonly used in skin care. The anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties in kaolin clay are known to improve the appearance of acne-prone skin. Kaolin clay is commonly used for its ability to absorb oil from your skin and is not recommended for use on dry skin.

Lavender Essential Oil:

An essential oil that possesses natural anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antimicrobial and detoxifying properties. The terpenes in lavender essential oil help reduce skin redness and speed the healing of minor cuts, scrapes, and rashes. Lavender essential oil is known to have a calming effect when inhaled.

Lemongrass Essential Oil:

An essential oil with natural anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce skin redness, inflammation, itching, and swelling. Lemongrass essential oil is also a natural antiseptic and astringent.

Mango Butter:

Mango butter is a natural source of salicylic acid, antioxidants, vitamin C, and vitamin A which protect skin from environmental stressors. Mango butter helps stimulate skin rejuvenation, softens skin and improves skin elasticity.

Manuka Honey:

Manuka honey is a specific honey product from bees that pollinate the manuka bush in New Zealand and Australia. Manuka honey is a natural source of hydrogen peroxide and methylglyoxal, two antimicrobial compounds commonly used in wound care. Manuka honey is an exfoliant that helps slough away skin cell debris to keep your skin clean. Manuka honey is a known anti-inflammatory that is effective in killing pathogens, including antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Manuka honey has a low pH and can be effective in healing acne.

Olive Oil:

A natural moisturizer with antioxidant properties. Olive oil attributes its antioxidant properties to a naturally high concentration of squalene. Olive oil is also a source of vitamins A, D, K, and vitamin E.

Palm Oil:

Palm oil is both a natural cleanser and an emollient. The cleansing properties of palm oil support those found in coconut oil by lifting oil and dirt from your skin.  This oily layer is then cleansed away by properties found in coconut oil. Palm oil is also a natural source of palmitic and oleic fatty acids which restore moisture levels in your skin normally lost during cleansing. Palm oil is a natural source of tocotrienol, a hard-to-find form of vitamin E, that supports your skin’s biome by fighting free radicals. This powerful antioxidant is known to prevent skin damage and reduce fine lines by penetrating deeper into the layers of your skin to heal from within.

Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil:

An essential oil naturally high in citric acid known to give skin a smooth appearance and balance your skin’s sebum production.

Red Palm Oil:

A natural antioxidant high in Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), known to enhance elasticity in your skin and squalene to soften your skin. Red palm oil is also rich in vitamin E and offers some UV protection.

Shea butter:

A natural occlusive that provides a moisture barrier to slow the evaporation of water from your skin’s surface. Shea butter is a natural source of stearic and oleic acids which smooth and softens your skin. Shea butter is a natural source of vitamin E and vitamin A which supports your skin’s immune system and speeds healing.

Sweet Almond Oil:

A natural source of retinol (vitamin A) that stimulates the production of new skin cells. Sweet almond oil is source of oleic acid, an Omega-3 fatty acid that protects your skin from sun damage. Sweet almond oil is also a natural source of zinc which supports your skin’s ability to heal.

Tea Tree Oil:

An essential oil with powerful antiseptic properties. Tea tree oil has known antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Tea tree oil also possesses antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Tea tree oil is highly concentrated and is not recommended for use on infants or toddlers.
